The Rubenstein Kiss

Catco Is Theatre

The Columbus Dispatch  •  Saturday February 4, 2012

Michael Grossberg

"Set designer Michael S. Brewer and lighting designer Cynthia Stillings create a crisp and fluid atmosphere in which the two generations alternate smoothly."

Queer Corner

February 17, 2012

"Director Steven Anderson has assembled a knockout cast. And paired with the trope’s stellar design team the show is a definite must see for any theater goer or history buff this side of the Mississippi. The set (Michael S. Brewer), lighting (Cynthia Stillings) and sound (Keya Myers-Alkire) moved almost like it’s own symphony, changing and sometimes twirling with the characters as they swept between eras, while Tatjana Longerot’s vivid costume designs kept us grounded whether in the ’50s or ’70s."

Michael Grossberg

"Michael S. Brewer’s plush period set, Darin Keesing’s lighting and Keya Myers-Alkire’s atmospheric sound design also help evoke the retro mood and aura of wealthy vanity."

Evil Dead The Musical

Catco Is Theatre

Columbus Dispatch  June, 2011

Michael Grossberg

"Taking their grungy aesthetic from the Planet of Cheap Special Effects, the design team provides a good proportion of the humor through clever touches and efficient mechanics that bring many props to demon-haunted life. (Love that talking moose, who might be some distant horror-cousin of Bullwinkle.)

Kudos to Michael S. Brewer"
